Symphony of the Daleks was the name used in its shortened YouTube upload for a Dalek skit included in the 2010 edition of Doctor Who at the Proms, immediately prior to — but separate from — the prerecorded minisode featuring the Eleventh Doctor. It was performed live, before being recorded on television and audio in a definitive broadcast form. Although a shortened version of the skit was uploaded on YouTube as Symphony of the Daleks, it cut out nearly half of the overall skit.

Synopsis[[edit] | [edit source]]

The Daleks take control of the Royal Albert Hall and force the conductor, Ben Foster, to only play Dalek music.

Plot[[edit] | [edit source]]

An Ironside Dalek emerges at the Royal Albert Hall, cheerfully outlining its cover story as a creation of Professor Bracewell to win the War, before realising that it has slipped through time upon being confronted with the Supreme Dalek, who orders it to vacate the area and report to be exterminated as an inferior being. After it reluctantly complies, the Supreme turns to the conductor, Ben Foster, and, declaring that the human musicians can live so long as they play "only Dalek music", orders him to perform the Symphony of the Daleks, which he does.
