Sock

According to the Twelfth Doctor, there was no such thing as socks until there suddenly were. (TV: Under the Lake)

For Christmas, both Susan Campbell and Lucie Miller bought socks for the Eighth Doctor, while the Doctor intended to give Lucie socks as well. The Doctor was very pleased at receiving socks, as they were practical and no-one ever bought him socks.

The Doctor intended to give Lucie socks, as well as a woolly hat, a bag of bread crumbs, and a TARDIS key with a musical keyring. However, he missed his chance to present his gifts in the ensuing adventure, and only remembered once she had left to travel with Alex Campbell. (AUDIO: Relative Dimensions)

The Seventh Doctor wore a navy blue sock. (PROSE: Return of the Living Dad)
