Krakatoa

Krakatoa erupted. Some time prior to his third incarnation, the Doctor witnessed the eruption. He also heard Primords for the first time. (TV: Inferno) That same day, the Ninth Doctor, having stolen a Time War weapon from Althea Bryce, visited Krakatoa to bury it so it could be destroyed in the eruption, two hours later. However, a younger version of Althea Bryce later retrieved the weapon, creating a temporal loop. (AUDIO: Her Own Bootstraps) The Doctor then washed up on the coast of Sumatra, and a sketch of him eventually found its way into Clive Finch's collection of artefacts related to the Doctor. The Torchwood Institute tracked the Doctor to Krakatoa after the eruption. (COMIC: The Time Machination)

The Tenth Doctor and Rose face the Chalderans. (COMIC: Under the Volcano)

The Tenth Doctor and Rose also visited Indonesia and encountered the alien Chalderans. They escaped in the TARDIS just as the volcano erupted. (COMIC: Under the Volcano) The Xylok that later became Sarah Jane Smith's supercomputer, Mr Smith, was released by the explosion. (TV: The Lost Boy)
