John Paul II

John Paul was Pope from at least the early 1980s to 2005. During his life, he survived an assassination attempt.

Biography

In May 1981, an individual attempted to assassinate the Pope in St Peters Square. Heathcliffe Bower later recollected these events in 1984. Around 1984, Pope John Paul was featured in a newspaper. A copy was obtained by the Kin, who cut out and enlarged his face to life-size, cutting in eyeholes so that it could be used as a mask. Polly Browning discovered this mask, as well as masks of Prince Charles, Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher and the Queen, inside her childhood home in Claversham Row, London. On 7 May 1997, according to Home Secretary David Staines, the Pope wanted to seek an audience with the Ice Warrior Lord Xznaal. Idly, he rhetorically asked Edward Greyhaven if Xznaal was a Protestant or Catholic. In early 2005, (AUDIO: One Rule [+]Loading...["One Rule (audio story)"]) Peter D told the conspiracy website Doctor Who? that the Ninth Doctor could be seen behind an OB van in footage captured during a funeral at St Peter's. His blue box was also visible behind the stands. (PROSE: Have You Seen This Man? [+]Loading...["Have You Seen This Man? (short story)"])

Behind the scenes

  • In the real world, John Pope is properly known as John Paul II; The Assassin's Story [+]Loading...["The Assassin's Story (short story)"] refers to him as "the Pope" and Have You Seen This Man? [+]Loading...["Have You Seen This Man? (short story)"] indirectly mentions him through his funeral.
  • Coincidentally, two of the four references to John Paull II of his mortality, his attempted assassination and his funeral.
  • The Eighth Doctor novel History 101 [+]Loading...["History 101 (novel)"] heavily implies that Jueves, an agent of Sabbath Dei, was behind the 1981 assassination attempt. The inconsistent 1980 was deliberate on Mags L. Halliday's part, as she wanted to create differences between the real world and the Doctor Who universe, in the same way BBC3 begun broadcasting in the 1970s in the DWU, unlike 2003 in the real world.[1]
