Continuity[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • This story follows on directly from Her Own Worst Enemy [+]Loading...["Her Own Worst Enemy (audio story)"], which sees Noah becoming the COLT-5000 rather than Geraldine Diamond, due to Jenny's attempt at "fixing" Geraldine's timeline.
  • This results in Jenny's timeline being temporarily frozen. Something similar happened to both the Twelfth and First Doctors when the First Doctor refused to regenerate, as seen in Twice Upon a Time [+]Loading...["Twice Upon a Time (TV story)"].
  • It's noted that William Shakespeare's timeline is fractured. In one timeline, he's King Richard III, as witnessed in The Kingmaker [+]Loading...["The Kingmaker (audio story)"], whereas in another he's apparently fighting witches as seen in The Shakespeare Code [+]Loading...["The Shakespeare Code (TV story)"].
  • Due to her lack of a surname, Jenny is referred to as "Jenny Who". Despite "Who" being a placeholder for those without surnames, her father used "Who" as a surname numerous times. Missy thought he did this on purpose to look mysterious but dropped it when it started to appear "on the nose". She told this to Bill Potts in World Enough and Time [+]Loading...["World Enough and Time (TV story)"].
  • A human who resembled the Doctor in numerous ways also called himself Dr. Who. According to The Day of the Doctor [+]Loading...["The Day of the Doctor (novelisation)"], he was a fictional person. However, according to other accounts, such as Unnatural History [+]Loading...["Unnatural History (novel)"], it was posed that he was not only real, but that he existed due to multiple shifts in history causing numerous origin stories for the Doctor.
  • In fact, Jenny uses a similar technique to put distance between herself and the COLT-5000 by blasting the ATM, exposing the money. She then invites the passersby to help themselves.
  • When Jenny arrives on Earth she wonders whether it's too early for Zygons, referencing their presence in the 2010s, most notable during the attempted invasion, seen in The Zygon Invasion [+]Loading...["The Zygon Invasion (TV story)"].
  • Coleen is furious at the destruction of her library, that she claims is council property. A similar situation arises in Fear Her [+]Loading...["Fear Her (TV story)"], where a council worker claims he's going to report Rose Tyler for taking a "council axe" from a "council van" in order to dig up a council road.
  • Upon failing to convince the COLT-5000 version of Coleen to understand the predicament, she instructs Noah and Florence to run. The Tenth Doctor did explain to her upon her first adventure in The Doctor's Daughter [+]Loading...["The Doctor's Daughter (TV story)"] that life with him contained "an awful lot of running". It also echoes how numerous Doctors, including the Second and Fifth Doctors, utilised the phrase "when I say run, run", as seen in The Abominable Snowmen [+]Loading...["The Abominable Snowmen (TV story)"] and Warriors of the Deep [+]Loading...["Warriors of the Deep (TV story)"].
  • Upon buying the cheese and pickle sandwich, the timeline rewinds itself and echoes of important events from that timeline are heard. Something similar happened in The Big Bang [+]Loading...["The Big Bang (TV story)"], which saw the Eleventh Doctor getting erased from time. The Eleventh Doctor saw moments from his life and was able to interact with some of them. Upon experiencing his first meeting with Amelia Pond, he chose to "skip the rest".
  • Florence seemed to be able to remember small parts of the original timeline, similar to how Clara Oswald was able to remember the erased timeline from Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS [+]Loading...["Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS (TV story)"], something which the Eleventh Doctor said she shouldn't be able to do in The Name of the Doctor [+]Loading...["The Name of the Doctor (TV story)"].
  • As seeen in It Takes You Away [+]Loading...["It Takes You Away (TV story)"], Thirteenth Doctor companion Graham O'Brien was fond of cheese and pickle sandwiches. He claimed to carry them with him after claiming that life as a companion was very much living in the fast lane. He offered said sandwich to Hanne.
