Eliot was a signalman on the railways in 1899. He hoped to be a writer and spent hours of the day writing. He was employed by the owner of the railway he worked on Carruthers to help investigate a disappeared train which reminded him of his previous crash on the line. They found the train but what he saw in there caused him to remember the experiences of the previous accident. He lived near the temporal breakage causing him to absorb the energies allowing the War Master create a time loop.
