Apollo 13 was an early human spacecraft.
On 17 April, 1970, Apollo 13 safely returned to Earth after an oxygen tank exploded mid-flight, and created a shortage of heat, power and water, which forced the crew to carry out ingenious makeshift repairs. (PROSE: Time Traveller's Diary)
Apollo 13 was described by the Fourth Doctor as "real skin-of-your-teeth-stuff." He referred to Jim Lovell as the "hero of Apollo 13." (PROSE: Three Wise Men)
