Chestnut Avenue

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

Chestnut Avenue (PROSE: The Story of Fester Cat) was a street in Levenshulme, South Manchester. (PROSE: The Wickerwork Man, The Story of Fester Cat) Elena Golightly also lived in a home on the avenue. (PROSE: Hunky Dory)

The street was located next to the railway and several other streets including Central Avenue and Berkley Avenue. (PROSE: The Story of Fester Cat)

Peter's home, (PROSE: The Wickerwork Man) Paul and Jeremy's home, and Karen and Mark's home were all located on this street. (PROSE: The Story of Fester Cat)

History[[edit] | [edit source]]

The street was traversed by the Eighth Doctor and Peter during the time when an ancient tree god was accidentally awakened in some wickerwork furniture that was in Peter's garden. (PROSE: The Wickerwork Man)

The street, along with the rest of Levenshulme, had an active cat population. The cats spent a lot of time on the streets, forming groups and gangs, with usually peaceful interactions. Every night on Christmas, the cats would form the "Cat Passeggiata", a sort of procession (PROSE: The Story of Fester Cat) that involved singing. (PROSE: Fester and the Christmas Mouse)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

While this street wasn't named in The Wickerwork Man, the street was named in The Story of Fester Cat and Hunky Dory.

Though it's possible that a real world location doesn't exist in the same geographic space in the Doctor Who universe, such cases are few and far between. Thus, the map to the right is probably a good indicator of the DWU location of Chestnut Avenue.
