The Lake District, also known as the Lakes, (AUDIO: Call to Arms [+]Loading...["Call to Arms (audio story)"]) was a region in the North of England, famous, as the name suggested, for its lakes. In 1896, Ian Lunn was born in the Lake District.

The Tenth Doctor and Martha Jones visited the region in September 1909, hoping to meet King Edward VII who was there on a hunt for the alleged "Beast of Westmoreland."
