Scones were a form of bread-like pastry, often had with tea. The Doctor enjoyed them in several incarnations.

The Third Doctor playfully offered Sarah Jane Smith a scone with her sugar-free tea after they'd already had a bit of banter over Sarah's insistence on foregoing sugar in her tea. In an alternate timeline, the Sixth Doctor tried a fruit scone made by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, only to find that it wasn't very good: it was too sweet and was crumbly. Mrs Parkhouse was famous — to the Eighth Doctor — for the scones she baked at the Wisteria Tea Rooms in Stockbridge, England.
