Events[[edit] | [edit source]]

As Napoléon Bonaparte was dying on St Helena, he began to reveal to his close friend, Jean Tombier, what he had seen in the Great Pyramid in Egypt in 1798. Though Tombier had actually been with Bonaparte on the Egyptian expedition, he had never known exactly what Bonaparte had seen. He was extremely interested when the ex-emperor began to talk of the incident. However, Bonaparte failed to finish the story and Tombier probably never learned what had happened. Fang Rock lighthouse was first commissioned, after which shipwrecks on Fang Rock became rare. (PROSE: The Secret Lives of Monsters)

Births and deaths[[edit] | [edit source]]

Dated[[edit] | [edit source]]

On 5 May, Napoléon Bonaparte died on St Helena. A letter from the Eleventh Doctor was found among his possessions, which was believed by most later historians to be a hoax because it was written on anachronistic Basildon Bond-brand paper that had not been created by Millington & Sons until 1911. Undated[[edit] | [edit source]]

Richard Francis Burton was born in this year. (PROSE: The Book of the War)
