- The Doctor remarks that the mannequin wearing the green hat, brown coat, and long scarf looks familiar.
- Rose believes it'd be less scary if the Nestene Consciousness could bring to life jam tarts rather than mannequins.
- Mr. Socket's electrical shop was located next door to the clothes shop. Miss Dinky's toy shop, and Mrs. Sprout's Greengrocer's were also located nearby.

- The story offers an alternate account of the events of TV: Rose, with the most notable difference being that Jack is already travelling with the Doctor by the time Rose meets them.
