Moreton Harwood
Moreton Harwood was the small village in Gloucestershire, where Sarah Jane Smith's aunt Lavinia bought a manor house and moved from South Croydon, in 1979. Along with her furnishings, Lavinia took a crate that had been delivered for Sarah Jane the previous year. Unbeknownst to Lavinia, the crate contained K9 Mark III. Lavinia's ward Brendan Richards nominally resided with Lavinia but boarded at Wellington College during the academic year; he wanted to attend the local comprehensive school in Moreton Harwood. (TV: A Girl's Best Friend)
Sarah Jane visited Lavinia and Brendan's house for Christmas 1981, but Lavinia had set off early for her lecture tour in America. Sarah Jane received K-9 at that time. (TV: A Girl's Best Friend)
The town was plagued by the murderous Hecate Cult which was uncovered by Sarah Jane and K-9 during the former's visit in 1981. (TV: A Girl's Best Friend)
The local newspaper was the Wiltshire and Gloucestershire Standard. (TV: A Girl's Best Friend)
Moreton Harwood was located along a rail line and had a passenger station. (TV: A Girl's Best Friend)
After Lavinia's death, ownership of the house in Moreton Harwood passed to Sarah Jane. According to one account, she sold the property, circa 2002. (AUDIO: Ghost Town)
