Los Angeles Homicide Bureau
The Los Angeles Homicide Bureau, sometimes shortened to Los Angeles Homicide, or simply "Homicide", was an organisation which operated in Los Angeles in the 1960s. Members of the organisation included Captain Amos Burke, Detective Tim Tilson, and Sergeant Les Hart.
The organisation was later documented in TV Century 21 in the 2060s via use of the TV 21 Time Machine.

After Wall Street tycoon Elias Hoodreim fell from the twenty-third floor of his office in Los Angeles, Captain Amos Burke was called in (COMIC: Who Killed Elias Hoodreim? [+]Loading...["Who Killed Elias Hoodreim? (comic story)"]) to investigate Hoodreim's death. (COMIC: Who Killed Elias Hoodreim? [+]Loading...["Who Killed Elias Hoodreim? (comic story)"], PROSE: Zodiac's Rescue Bid! [+]Loading...["Zodiac's Rescue Bid! (short story)"]) Ultimately, they were successful, discovering the killer to have been ex-jockey Pacer Reynolds, from whom Hoodreim had agreed to buy a racehorse. (COMIC: Who Killed Elias Hoodreim? Amos Burke was in attendance at a theatre during a performance of (COMIC: Who Killed Lord Nelson? (part 1) [+]Loading...{"part":"1","1":"Who Killed Lord Nelson? (comic story)"}) This Gun for Death, (PROSE: Peaceful Thals Ambushed! [+]Loading...["Peaceful Thals Ambushed! (short story)"]) which starred actor "Lord Nelson". (COMIC: Who Killed Lord Nelson? [+]Loading...["Who Killed Lord Nelson? (comic story)"], PROSE: Peaceful Thals Ambushed! [+]Loading...["Peaceful Thals Ambushed! (short story)"]) During the performance, Nelson was shot, leading Burke to investigate, (COMIC: Who Killed Lord Nelson? (part 1) [+]Loading...{"part":"1","1":"Who Killed Lord Nelson? (comic story)"}, PROSE: Peaceful Thals Ambushed! [+]Loading...["Peaceful Thals Ambushed! (short story)"]) with Tim Tilson and Les Hart being called in to assist in the investigation. Burke systematically interviewed the cast of the performance, observing that Nelson "wasn't very popular", but not getting any clear leads. (COMIC: Who Killed Lord Nelson? (comic story)"]) ultimately discovering, through noticing blue paint on Burke's shoes as well as on the carpet of box six, that the killer had been Mr Ferretti, who had dropped the gun into a tin of blue paint, causing him to leave a trail of blue paint around the theatre. Investigating the death of Irvin Death[[edit] | [edit source]]
On Captain Burke's night off, fortune teller (COMIC: Who Killed Death? (part 1) [+]Loading...{"part":"1","1":"Who Killed Death? (comic story)"}) Irvin Death (PROSE: Daleks Suffer Heavy Losses! [+]Loading...["Daleks Suffer Heavy Losses! (short story)"]) arrived at Burke's home, claiming to have foreseen that someone would kill him, shortly before a car drove past, with gunfire coming from it, leading Burke to allow Death into his home while he called Les Hart, letting him know what had happened, but stating that no murder had happened, and that Hart and Tim Tilson should stay at work.
Returning to Death's home, Burke found that all three of Death's recent clients were also fortune tellers, leading him to question each of them. with Charles the Great suggesting that it had been a publicity stunt, and that if Burke found Death's valet, he'd find the gun. Burke indeed found Deaths valet and the gun, leading him to threaten that if Death tried another stunt like that, he'd pull both of them in for pestering the police department.
The following evening, Burke found a note in his home inviting him to Death's "final and fatal performance" at 8:30 that night, leading him to remark that "some people never learn!", but nevertheless arrived at Death's house. As Burke entered, Death's crystal ball exploded, killing Death, leading Burke to call in Tim and Les. (COMIC: Who Killed Death? (part 1) [+]Loading...{"part":"1","1":"Who Killed Death? (comic story)"}) Les found an anonymous appointment booked for the same time as Burke's invitation, with Burke deciding to question the three fortune tellers again. Ultimately, Burke discovered the killer to be Charles the Great, as he was the only one of the tellers to describe fortune telling as a performance, lining up with the invitation he had received.
