The series stars the titular Postman Pat and his black and white cat Jess, who live in the fictional village of Greendale, with the titular character operating as a postman.

Crossover[[edit] | [edit source]]

The series briefly crossed over with the Doctor Who universe in the 1998 BBC promotional video Future Generations, which featured a young boy travelling through the settings of several series, including Postman Pat and Doctor Who.

Partway through the promo, after the boy walks through the garden from The Herbs, he enters Greendale, where Postman Pat (accompanied by his cat Jess) asks the boy to deliver a package to Bagpuss & Co. (from Bagpuss), to which the boy obliges, with Pat referring to him as a "nice young man".
