History[[edit] | [edit source]]

Physical diaries[[edit] | [edit source]]

Diaries were typically physical notebooks. The Doctor had a Five Hundred Year Diary, (PROSE: The Three Paths, TV: The Power of the Daleks [+]Loading...["The Power of the Daleks (TV story)"]) later updated this to a Nine Hundred Year Diary, (TV: Doctor Who [+]Loading...["Doctor Who (TV story)"]) and later still to a Two Thousand Year Diary. (TV: The Girl Who Died [+]Loading...["The Girl Who Died (TV story)"])

Richard Haliwell's diary was placed in a time safe in the Doctor's TARDIS so he would have it earlier to use for reference. (PROSE: Imperial Moon [+]Loading...["Imperial Moon (novel)"])

Each time the Doctor and River Song met, she would compare her diary with his to see where they were in their relative time streams. (TV: The Impossible Astronaut [+]Loading...["The Impossible Astronaut (TV story)"], TV: Let's Kill Hitler [+]Loading...["Let's Kill Hitler (TV story)"], etc.)

Computer diaries[[edit] | [edit source]]

Professor Frederick Marius kept a computer diary at least during the time he acquired K9 Mark III. (PROSE: Tautology [+]Loading...["Tautology (short story)"])

Video diaries[[edit] | [edit source]]

P.R.O.B.E. director Giles kept case files on P.R.O.B.E.'s investigations in the form of short "video diaries" he recorded on a daily or near-daily basis, (WCShadows of Doubt [+]Loading...["Shadows of Doubt (webcast)"], etc.) which he then transmitted to Sir Andrew Williams so that they would double as reports.
