- Alice does not like sprouts.
- Alice has finally got a smart phone for Christmas. Her previous mobile phone did not even have a touch screen.
- Alice's grandmother pretended she was knitting her a cardigan.
- In fact, her grandmother got her earrings and next year's Justin Bieber calendar, both of which were near the top of her Christmas list.
- The Wire first introduces itself into Alice's life in the form of Justin Bieber calling her on Alice's new phone.
- Alice's father has bought a smart TV for his wife, and the family plans to watch a movie on it on Christmas afternoon.
- Alice does a video call with Tasha.
- The Doctor accidentally released the Wire while searching for his copy of It's a Wonderful Life. He later joins the Wu family as they watch the film.
