Chessene o' the Franzine Grig was an Androgum chatelaine whom Joinson Dastari augmented to become a genius. She orchestrated a plan to liberate her people and conquer the universe using time travel, but she was killed when she attempted to use the Kartz-Reimer module.

Chessene belonged to the Franzine Grig, which had blood-ties to the Quawncing Grig, and considered herself to be of sacred blood and a noble history. She worked as a chatelaine aboard Space Station Camera and was used by Joinson Dastari in his experiments, being subject to nine technological augmentation which made her an Androgum-T.A. of mega-genius level and made her unrecognisable as an Androgum. She stopped using her karm name, spent days in the station's databanks and gained the power to read both living and dead minds. However, she assured Shockeye that she remembered her history whilst looking towards the future.
Chessene was the brain behind Kartz and Reimer's experiments into time travel and deduced that the Kartz-Reimer module required a Time Lord's symbiotic nuclei. Devising a plan to use it to liberate her people and dominate the universe, (TV: The Two Doctors [+]Loading...["The Two Doctors (TV story)"]) she thoroughly researched Sontaran psychology (PROSE: The Two Doctors [+]Loading...["The Two Doctors (novelisation)"]) and suggested that she, Dastari and Shockeye form an alliance with Group Marshal Stike to capture the Doctor, kill everyone aboard the space station to frame the Time Lords and isolate the Doctor's symbiotic nuclei. They succeeded in capturing the Second Doctor, although she allowed Jamie McCrimmon to remain on the station, and took him to Andalusia where they were followed by the Sixth Doctor, Jamie and Peri Brown.
Upon learning of the Sixth Doctor's presence, Chessene attacked Stike and Major Varl with coronic acid and had Dastari use Shockeye's genetic material to turn the Second Doctor into an Androgum to become her consort to save time. The plan failed due to Shockeye releasing the Second Doctor and she ordered Dastari to kill the Sixth Doctor after he claimed to have put his print into the briode nebuliser, but he saw her succumb to her urge to drink the Time Lord's spilt blood and realised he had made a mistake. When he turned against her, Chessene killed him and attempted to use the Kartz-Reimer module to enact her plans, but it exploded as the nebuliser was a ruse. Chessene retained her savage Androgum instincts and urges, with both the Second and Sixth Doctors recognising the danger she posed even as Dastari dismissed their concerns, considering her his greatest work. (TV: The Two Doctors [+]Loading...["The Two Doctors (TV story)"])

As part of her augmentation, Chessene's forehead and jawline were modified to make her more attractive whilst also looking strong. She had short, jet-black hair, square white teeth and long lashes and her dark but shining eyes were especially striking.
