The temporal stabiliser was a device that was essential to operating a space-time machine and allow it to travel safely. Temporal stabilisers were used by the Time Lords, (TV: Planet of Fire) the Daleks (AUDIO: The Time of the Daleks) and the Korven. (TV: Angel of the North, The Eclipse of the Korven)

History[[edit] | [edit source]]

Korven used temporal stabilisers in the Space-Time Manipulators on their ships, one of which crashed on Earth before 2050. The Department salvaged technology from the crash site in Canada. The STM was taken to Gryffen Manor in London so Professor Alistair Gryffen could study it. However, they had missed the stabiliser and it remained in the ship. After activity at the crash site caused disturbances in the STM, Gryffen went there with Thorne to get the STM. Despite a Korven attack, Gryffen took it back to the Manor. (TV: Angel of the North) Gryffen refused to use it on the STM lest the Korven come through. However, when a strange phenomenon in the STM threatened the Earth, Gryffen was forced to use it, allowing the Korven vanguard led by Lomax through. Gryffen got to the Millennium Dome and terminated the STM. (TV: The Eclipse of the Korven)

Stolen by the Master, the Fifth Doctor took the stabiliser of the Master's TARDIS and installed it on his own TARDIS, as it was compatible. (TV: Planet of Fire)

The Sixth Doctor forgot to reset the stabilisers whilst attempting to take Peri Brown to the Eye of Orion, (PROSE: Attack of the Cybermen) resulting in a bumpy ride which took them to 1985. (TV: Attack of the Cybermen)

The TARDIS' temporal stabiliser was still functional after the ship's encounter with Funhouse. (COMIC: Kane's Story)
