Worldbuilding[[edit] | [edit source]]
- 2 June, 2022 is the date of both Queen Elizabeth II's platinum jubilee celebration, and Lucy's seventeenth birthday.
- Upon learning that Lucy came from 2022, the young Elizabeth assumes that her son Charles III would be King by that point.
- Lucy thinks her grandfather might be a teacher at Brendon Public School in 1977.
Story notes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- Lucy tries to remember what her grandfather would have been doing by 1977, adding that "time is really confusing in the 1970s", a nod to the UNIT dating controversy.
- The 1977 Queen Elizabeth assumes that her son Charles would be King by 2022, only to be amazed to learn that she was still on the throne by then. In a sad case of irony, the real Charles indeed would become King that year, following Elizabeth's passing just three months later.
