Peardrop was the fourth short story in the The Lucy Wilson Mysteries series' free online anthology The Lucy Wilson Collection: School Children, all of whose entries were written by schoolchildren. It was published anonymously.

Plot[[edit] | [edit source]]

At school, during a maths lesson, Lucy Wilson progressively realizes that her boring teacher Mr Johnson appears to have been replaced with a much more competent duplicate of himself. Why does no one seem to notice, let alone care about, this unusual behaviour?

Notes[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • Like several other stories in The Lucy Wilson Collection: School Children, this story ends with no resolution: the fate of the real Mr Johnson and the nature of the impostor remain unknown.
  • Despite the title, only one Cyber Teacher is featured in the story. The implication of the title is perhaps that the other teachers at Lucy's school have also been replaced with improved mechanical versions.
