Assessment Day (short story)
Assessment Day was the fifth and final short story in the The Lucy Wilson Mysteries series' free online anthology The Lucy Wilson Collection: School Children, all of whose entries were written by schoolchildren. It was published anonymously and featured an apparent glimpse into the distant future of Lucy and Hobo, who were seen traipsing through a derelict London during the apparent end of the world.
Plot[[edit] | [edit source]]
Lucy Wilson and Hobo Kostinen make their way through the deserted, dying London. Their outlook is bleak: not only are they hunted by the government, which seems intent on killing them as the "last two survivors", but it's the end of the world at large, with Sol in the process of imploding.

Worldbuilding[[edit] | [edit source]]
- The London Eye has tipped into the River Thames, which is growing thinner and thinner. Big Ben, however, is still ticking, showing that time is still passing.
