In his fifth incarnation, the Doctor recalled that "the press" eventually became aware of his role in protecting 20th century Earth from alien invasions, which he suggested followed the Fourth Doctor's encounter with the Loch Ness Monster. This newfound exposure, which he attributed to security failings on UNIT's part, made the Doctor a "reluctant celebrity". (AUDIO: The Kingmaker [+]Loading...["The Kingmaker (audio story)"])

"As always", according to Pete Lambert, the press weren't interested in reporting on the industrial accident that happened at the council where Pete worked. (PROSE: Have You Seen This Man? [+]Loading...["Have You Seen This Man? (short story)"])
