Thunderbirds on Secret Mission was a short story printed in TV Century 21 that contained elements from the Doctor Who universe. Framed as the front page of an in-universe periodical, the titular article detailed events relating to a Thunderbirds story and in doing so mentioned Unity City, a location first introduced in The Daleks comic story Duel of the Daleks [+]Loading...["Duel of the Daleks (comic story)"].

Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]

Following the reports from Unity City that the pilots of Thunderbird 1 and Thunderbird 4 are at a secret Bereznik war plant and in full conference with the country's dictator General Berenora, news reaches Moscow that Thunderbird 2 has started operations on the Bereznik-Russian border. This causes many to believe that International Rescue must be on a mission for the World Senate, with an agreement between Bereznik and the World Government in the pipeline, citing the presence of three Thunderbird craft in the area. However, in Berlin, trusted sources dismiss the reports from Moscow as sheer speculation and suggest the real reason for the International Rescue mission is the rescue of a top Bereznik official trapped in unusual circumstances.

Elsewhere, enraged by the failure of his Terror Fish to destroy Stingray, Titan vows that an "ultimate destruction" will befall the World Aquanaut Security Patrol vessel and her crew. Undercover sources indicate Titan will mount intensive search operations for his sworn enemy, Captain Troy Tempest. With Tempest's craft making slow progress back to base with a dangerous cargo of radioactive hydronnium, outsiders rate Titan's chances of success highly.

Later, the true reason for International Rescue's presence in Bereznik is revealed by the World Press Agency as it is learnt that Thunderbird 2 is attempting the rescue of a USS agent trapped in the mountains while Thunderbird 1 attends to the rescue of Katania Beronora.
