(COMIC: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde) The TARDIS' video tape library included the story of Earth's first space travellers, Bedford and Cavor. (COMIC: The First Men in the Moon) According to the Doctor, none of the tales were more terrifying than that of the invisible man. (COMIC: The Invisible Man)

The Fourth Doctor knew many stories about time travel (COMIC: Dr. Who's Time Tales 33, Dr. Who's Time Tales 36, Dr. Who's Time Tales 40, Dr. Who's Time Tales 42, Dr. Who's Time Tales 43) and immortality. (COMIC: Dr. Who's Time Tales 39, Dr. Who's Time Tales 41) These included the stories of Jimmy Deparis (COMIC: Dr. Who's Time Tales 35), Boswell Boliver, (COMIC: Dr. Who's Time Tales 36) Gundar, (COMIC: Dr. Who's Time Tales 37) and Albert Cragg. (COMIC: Dr. Who's Time Tales 42) The story of Professor Egen amused K9. (COMIC: Dr. Who's Time Tales 33)

Other tales concerned the Time-Lords and Gallifrey. For instance, the Fourth Doctor reviewed a video tape of Sillarc's defeat by Plutar. (COMIC: The Stolen Tardis)

Behind the scenes

The Fourth Doctor telling "time tales" was used as the in-universe framing device for Doctor Who Weekly's comic stories, with the Doctor introducing and, often, concluding each story. These devices were used in each story of the Tales from the TARDIS and Dr Who's Time Tales series of Marvel comics reprints, as well as in wholly original DWM backup comic stories such as The Stolen TARDIS.
