On 6 August, the following important behind-the-scenes events were known to have occurred:
- 1965 - "Mission to the Unknown" was recorded at BBC Television Centre Studio 4. (TCH 6)
- 1966 - The BBC announced to the press that William Hartnell was to leave the role of the first Doctor. Patrick Troughton signed a contract to play the second Doctor for 22 episodes.[1]
- 1983 - Studio filming for The Awakening took place at BBC Television Centre studio 6. (REF: Doctor Who The Handbook: The Fifth Doctor)
- 1998 - Big Finish's audio adaptation of the novel Beyond the Sun was recorded.
- 2000 - The Big Finish audio story The Holy Terror was recorded at the Moat Studios.
- 2004 - Big Finish's UNIT audio story Snake Head was recorded at the Moat Studios.
- 2010 - The Big Finish audio anthology The Demons of Red Lodge and Other Stories was recorded at the Moat Studios.
- 2016 - Big Finish's Jago & Litefoot audio story The Haunting was recorded at the Moat Studios.
- 2018 - The Big Finish audio story The Planet of Witches was recorded.
- 2020 - Big Finish announced the multi-Doctor Time Lord Victorious story Echoes of Extinction.
