A Letter from the Doctor (DWM 7 short story)
A Letter from the Doctor was a short story printed in DWM 7, and was the seventh in the A Letter from the Doctor series. It was structured as a letter "written" by the Fourth Doctor to the readers of Doctor Who Weekly.
The story was actually written by Dez Skinn, a fact he kept concealed for many years until he revealed it on his website.[1]
Plot[[edit] | [edit source]]
In his latest letter, the Fourth Doctor reveals it has become apparent that he is not the only Time Lord with a soft spot for planet Earth. He explains the first issue of Dr Who Weekly is yet to go on sale at the time of writing and that his colleagues at Marvel Comics have already received a letter of comment. The Doctor identifies the reader responsible as Anthony Shipley who he claims is "obviously" a Gallifreyan TARDIS owner who jumped ahead in time to get his copy early. The Doctor then responds to a section of Anthony's letter mentioning arguments with his parents about which television channel to watch, assuring him not to worry as this week he has arranged a competition affording Anthony and other readers the chance to win their very own television, potentially putting an end to the dispute as both Anthony and his parents would be able to watch what they wanted.
