A Visit from Saint Nicholas was the third short story in the Short Trips anthology Christmas Around the World. It was written by Lisa Miles. It featured the Third Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith.

Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]

Sarah is bored by the UNIT Christmas party, so the Doctor says he'll take her to Manhattan. Instead of landing in the city, however, they arrive on the lawn of a large mansion.

In the mansion, Clement C. Moore is unable to sleep, so he gets out of bed and heads to his study to work on his paper. On his way back to bed he hears a noise outside and sees a miniature sled, pulled by reindeer and driven by an old man.

Clement watches as the old man comes through the chimney and proceeds to leave gifts for the children. Before the man leaves, he winks at Clement.

Clement heads back to the study and begins writing.

Meanwhile, on the lawn, the Doctor introduces Sarah to Saint Nicholas.
