The Master watched over her during World War II. She wanted to do her part during the war and worked as a Land Girl. The Master was curious about her anger and wanted to nurture her powers. Hannah Raleigh aggravated her after apparently having a fling with her boyfriend. She severely injured Hannah by accident with the power of The Master's crystals. She was later place on trial for this.
