An Incident Concerning the Continual Bombardment of the Phobos Colony (short story)
An Incident Concerning the Continual Bombardment of the Phobos Colony was a Brief Encounter short story published in Doctor Who Magazine 168.
Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]
As the Daleks continue their bombardment of the Earth colony of Phobos, Davros questions two of the ship's Drones (Drone 77, formerly male; and Drone 69, formerly female), a pair of humans he has tested genetically and whose brains he has modified to remove their emotions of compassion, love and pity. They, like the Daleks, are his children. When they behave in a fashion indicating disgust for him (they both move away when he goes to touch them) and fear (by seeking comfort in each other's arms), he orders their extermination. As he leaves, he wonders if the same behaviour that he so despises also exists in the Daleks.
