The Andoman Islands were the location of Port Blair.
Richard Carnac Temple was the recognised authority on the Andoman islanders, and he co-wrote a treatise on their language. In Arthur Conan Doyle's The Sign of the Four, Sherlock Holmes's description of the islanders drew from Temple's accounts. (PROSE: The Book of the War)

In the real world, the name of the islands is spelled "Andaman"; however, due to Tardis Wiki rules, the apparent typo in The Book of the War is regarded as their name in the Doctor Who universe.
