Anima Persis
Anima Persis was a geo-psychic planet. Its deserts and vegetation had psychic auras which could communicate with strangers. It was used as a test for Time Lords in training.
History[[edit] | [edit source]]
Biochemical weapons built from the planet harnessed its psychic atmosphere. Bombs could blow the souls from their victims' bodies, leaving behind vengeful ghosts which fed off fear and tortured their victims to death. The Kingmaker sent Ace to Anima Persis to defeat the tortured spirits. Upon arriving, she met a few survivors of the wars, driven mad with fear by the spirits who penetrated their minds during storms. Together, Ace and a survivor child named Magan journeyed to the crater of a volcano from which the spirits emerged. However, the spirits captured Ace's mind, and Ace had to sacrifice Magan to prevent the spirits from abusing her new Time Lord powers.
Around the same time, Tannis banished Golcrum to Anima Persis as punishment for insubordination. Golcrum found only Ace's TARDIS, Ace lying unconscious nearby, and a ruined village without bodies. Together they left the planet, with Ace convinced that she had abused her powers and killed all the survivors. The Seventh Doctor later told her that the planet had been abandoned for centuries, and Magan and the other survivors were themselves constructs of the spirits; the mission was actually "the great test", which all Time Lords in training — including the Doctor — failed, forcing them into a circumstance where they seemingly lost control their power and regretted it. At some point in its history, Anima Persis was placed under the protection of the Galactic Heritage, who classified it as "Grade 1" because it was a site of great universal interest. (PROSE: The Tomorrow Windows [+]Loading...["The Tomorrow Windows (novel)"])
