Astrobeetle

Astrobeetles were giant telepathic insects native to Zaos. They were deaf and mute, but could fire destructive rays from their eyes which were capable of shattering rock.
When the Daleks invaded Zaos, the Second Doctor and the Sky Ray Space Raiders journeyed to the region inhabited by the Astrobeetles and made contact with them, convincing them to assist in destroying the Daleks. Afterwards, the Zaons and the Astrobeetles remained allies. (PROSE: Daleks Invade Zaos)
