Body temperature

Body temperature was a value registered by the sonic sunglasses in degrees Celsius.

Humans[[edit] | edit source]

Living humans commonly registered a body temperature of between 37 and 38 degrees Celsius. Bill Potts had a body temperature of 37.6 degrees Celsius, the Secretary General had a temperature of 37.9 degrees Celsius, Xiaolian had a temperature of 37.7 degrees Celsius, Don Brabbit had a temperature of 38.0 degrees Celsius and Ilya Svyatoslavovich had a temperature of 37.6 degrees Celsius. (TV: The Pyramid at the End of the World)

Similarly, Shadow People, which imitated human life, also registered a body temperature of between 37 and 38 degrees Celsius. Cardinal Angelo had a temperature of 37.3 degrees Celsius, as did Piero. The Pope's entourage all had temperatures of between 37 and 38 degrees Celsius. (TV: Extremis)

The dead President, however, had a temperature of 32.1 degrees Celsius. (TV: The Pyramid at the End of the World)

Other species[[edit] | edit source]

Time Lords such as the Eighth Doctor could have a body temperature far below human average. According to Tom Cardwell, the Doctor had a body temperature of 15 degrees. The Doctor replied that "I suppose it is cold out there". (AUDIO: Blood of the Daleks) Another account agreed with this measurement, with the Doctor's body temperature given as 60 degrees Fahrenheit. (PROSE: The Reign of Terror) On another occasion the Fifth Doctor was assessed by Lieutenant Daniel Hopkins of UNIT who stated he had a body temperature of 31 degrees Celsius (AUDIO: The Helliax Rift), while in another account, the Thirteenth Doctor stated that Time Lords had a significantly higher average body temperature than humans. (TV: Kerblam!)

Statistically, Nardole was also below the common human body temperature, at 30.3 degrees Celsius. (TV: The Pyramid at the End of the World) This was likely due to his cybernetic body. (TV: The Return of Doctor Mysterio, The Pilot, et al.)

The body temperature of individual Monks could not be calculated by the sonic sunglasses. (TV: The Pyramid at the End of the World)

Weevils had a body temperature lower than humans. They were just short of being cold-blooded. (PROSE: Slow Decay)

Alexander Martin, a Kanatian, typically had a core temperature of 24 degrees. So as to blend in on Earth, he carried pills which could alter his temperature to that of a typical human. (PROSE: The House That Jack Built)
