Catch-the-Bear was a Cheyenne warrior who fashioned a war bonnet after a discussion with Cousin Belial. After his creation of the bonnet in July 1856, he began a quick rise to the rank of war chief, enabled by his reputation of fierceness and his newfound ability to injure with his gaze alone. However, the bonnet quickly drove him completely insane: he began sleeping with the bonnet on, wandering the camp naked save for the bonnet, and pulling out his hair to make the signal clearer.
