Historians who had been allowed access to the "Monster Vaults" of the databanks in the Doctor's TARDIS observed that the Abzorbaloffs' greed was so great that they often could not help blowing their cover by absorbing too many victims. (PROSE: The Monster Vault) Ironically, "Victor Kennedy" chided Elton Pope for breaking cover by confession his intention to find the Tenth Doctor to Jackie Tyler, only to then be exposed as an Abzorbaloff by Elton and Ursula Blake after absorbing Colin Skinner, his third LINDA member. In an account dated to January 1965, MI5 agents Captain Blacker, Jimmy Bondson, and Tesland planned to rendezvous aboard Blacker's yacht as cover for Blacker passing the plans to a nuclear device with the potential to endanger the entire world to Bondson. This couldn't happen, however, as criminal gang leader Carl snuck aboard, killed Blacker, stole the plans, and blew up the vessel before Bondson and Tesland arrived in their own ship. Later, when explaining to an International Rescue operative why they needed the help of International Rescue, Bondson explained their original plans, describing the rendezvous as a "good cover".
