David Kingdom

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference

David Kingdom was a member of the Space Exploration Team.

Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

Born in the late 40th century, (AUDIO: The Destroyers) David was the son of Merrick Kingdom, brother of Lena (AUDIO: The House of Kingdom) and Sara (AUDIO: The Destroyers) and half-brother of Bret Vyon. (AUDIO: The House of Kingdom)

David was a member of the Space Exploration Team mission to the surface of the giant meteorite M5, accompanied by Sara, Jason Corey and Mark Seven of the Special Space Security Forces. Within two days, the Exploration Team had established a pre-fabricated base called Explorer Base One, protected by a force field.

They believed the meteorite to be devoid of intelligent life, but the base was attacked by Daleks whilst the SSS agents were searching the wider area. The only survivor from the crew, David, was taken captive for interrogation. Discovering the Daleks' secret underground hideout, the SSS agents tried to rescue David and destroy the Daleks, but arrived too late to stop the Dalek ship escaping with their prisoner. (AUDIO: The Destroyers)

Mark Seven wrote a file about the incident, which Mavic Chen consulted when he and Bret met Sara "so many years" later in 3999. (AUDIO: The Guardian of the Solar System)

Appearance[[edit] | [edit source]]

David was "an attractive thirty year old." (AUDIO: The Destroyers)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

In some published storylines for The Destroyers, David Kingdom has a different role, largely that taken by Sara Kingdom in the Big Finish audio adaptation. Here, Sara was kidnapped from the Explorer Base by the Daleks. David — another SSS agent — accompanies Jason Corey and Mark Seven on a mission to investigate the destruction of the base. The trio likewise find the Dalek headquarters, but too late to stop the Dalek ship taking Sara away. However the actual script has their roles allocated as in the final audio adaptation.
