The Duke of Marlborough was a British aristocrat. The Doctor met him at the Battle of Malplaquet. In his fourth incarnation, the Doctor mentioned it to Sarah Jane Smith while they were being shot at by Kraal service mechanics, but before he could relate the story she interrupted him.
