Elise Kaplan was a colleague of Hebe Harrison and a member of the Lame Ducks. After a couple of years without seeing her friend, she reached out to her, calling for help. Two weeks after the contact, she was worried about the changes which she had made to herself at the Mindless Foundation and talked to Betterment about it. She was a poet and worked in the English department. A month after the contact, she encountered Hebe who noticed she had changed. She thought that something was off with Betterment. Hebe asked for her help to help Tannus Vallon recover, which she allowed much to Ron's annoyance. She looked after Hebe after Patricia's ableist rampage against her. She knew where the Oubliette was. She was the only person from the original timeline that remained in purity's one. She was present in the timeline where Purity attempted to rewrite Mel's timeline. She was concerned after Mel became unwell. She wrote poems and opened a florist. She started experiencing deja vu and wanted to help on Mel and Hebe's stakeout. Elise, Hebe and Mel fell through time finding themselves in Sheffield 2527. She didn't feel comfortable as she just wanted to see Ron again. She was captured with Mel by a Purifier who wanted to disinfect them from the world. She was designated as a biohazardous divergent. She was rescued by Nil and Hebe. She encountered Silkreth who wanted to use her to control the Doctor. The timeline collapsed and they made their way back to the original timeline, where Ron saved her from Silketh.
