- The President of the United States calls Kate Stewart at UNIT.
- The Doctor decides to take Clara for a curry.
- The Doctor says that the expression on Clara's face makes the Weeping Angels look cheerful.

- Russ Leach takes over as the artist, ending the record-setting run by previous DWA artist John Ross.
- Although the TV version of Clara does not dress in any sort of uniform style, Leach depicts her in the same outfit (red-piped sweater, blue skirt and tights) in this story and the ones to come.
