Fandor was an island which was considered to be a part of England. The Fendahl had a great influence over the island and its inhabitants. On 1 August 2007, the Eighth Doctor and Lucie Miller encountered the Fendahl there. (AUDIO: Island of the Fendahl)

The Island of Fandor is how Image of the Fendahl was initially misreported to the Doctor Who Appreciation Society after member Gordon Blows misheard the title on a telephone call.[1]
