Firestone Finance

Firestone Finance was a rival institution to Torchwood, set up in the 1930s, using banking and administration as a front for their activities. (AUDIO: Department X)

In 2009, they bought out G.R. Owen's department store and hypnotised its staff. They were investigating the store in search of the Department of Curiosities, which was a room that existed outside of N-Space, and that had also gone missing sometime before 1910.

During Torchwood Three's investigation into the store, Mr Absalom, the founder of Firestone, explained that to Gwen Cooper that their objective was the opposite of Torchwood's, going so much as to quote their motto as 'if it's alien, it's profit'.
