The First Wave of the House Military was effectively a stop-gap measure on the part of the Great Houses during the early days of the War in Heaven. The breeding-engines were just preparing to produce soldiers, and before they could be deployed normal House Members stood in their place, largely members of the ceremonial guard. Fortunately The Enemy's forces were also ill-prepared, preventing total defeat, however, very few members of this wave survived the battle of Dronid. (PROSE: The Book of the War)
