Ford Anglia

A Ford Anglia was a type of car in use in 1960s England. (PROSE: Romans Cutaway, Byzantium!)

According to one account, the First Doctor, Ian Chesterton, Barbara Wright and Vicki Pallister arrived near Rome shortly after leaving Dido. In this account, Ian Chesterton was knocked out and had a nightmare about the death of a girl he had loved, Suzy, in a car accident involving a Ford Anglia. Shortly afterwards he had an encounter with a lion. (PROSE: Romans Cutaway)

According to another account, they had instead arrived in Thrace and spent weeks in Byzantium before setting off to retrieve the TARDIS from Rome, which had been taken there by Germanicus Vinicius. In this account, Ian had a dream while on the Via Egnatia about owning a Ford Anglia, which he found "ridiculous" as he'd never own a Ford Anglia after "last time". In this dream, Ian had driven them all straight to Rome using his Ford Anglia, before crashing on arrival and hurting his head. Afterwards, they had met a lion tamer. (PROSE: Byzantium!)
