According to the Tardis:Format for Television Story Entries pages should not be created without certain things. This has stopped any of the SJA, TW, DW and K9 episodes from being created prematurely. However for the comics and audio stories etc, it is different. Their basic requirements are much less, but there are much more of them, and titles are given out nearly a year in advance. Why shouldn't these have the same formatting rules as the others? There is no reason for them not to, and in fact would probably help the wiki as they wouldn't be stubbed articles. I think this should change so that they shouldn't be created until sufficient information is available, just as with the television layouts. --The Thirteenth Doctor 21:11, August 7, 2010 (UTC)

Sounds like a good idea.

I've made the change to the Tardis:Format for Audio stories (formerly known as Format for CDs). It's got a re-written and re-formatted lead that I'll add the basic format to other pages, tweaking the basic requirements for each of the layouts. --Tangerineduel 12:39, August 9, 2010 (UTC)

For all the basic requirements I've made it:

• For Comic story it's; A summary, Character list and infobox with a majority of its fields filled in.
• For Novel it's; the Publisher's summary, Character list, infobox and the Novel's cover.
• For Short story it's; Character list and infobox.
• For Audio stories it's; Publisher's summary, Cast list, infobox and the audio's CD cover.

The reason for a slight difference between them is for novels and audios the publisher's summary is often fairly accessible as is the cover, cast/character list is usually easy to find also.

Comics doesn't demand an image of the comic to make it valid as images of the comic aren't usually accessible on the internet so you need access to the magazine and a flatbed scanner to get an image.

Short stories only has the infobox and character list as that's sort of the barest amount you can find. You also need to read the short story to write the summary or anything else in the article other than those two things.

I think if we demanded any more than this it'd invalidate a lot of our articles. I know this may seem like a slight double standard but the fact is many of our older articles are about older stories which had shorter print runs, less exposure or smaller readership than the current crop of stories. --Tangerineduel 13:30, August 9, 2010 (UTC)
