George Litefoot's father was a brigadier general in the punitive expedition to China of 1860. Afterwards, he lived in Peking as a palace attaché until his death in 1873. The people set off fireworks at his funeral. (TV: The Talons of Weng-Chiang) On 11 January 1894, George Litefoot had a dream that he was taking tea with his father, who referred to his son as "sir" and insisted on standing up in his brigadier general's uniform, despite his son's protestations.
