Gordon Jones was a lecturer in physics at Churchill College, Cambridge.
He was hypnotised by Tobias Vaughn after he went into the International Electromatics headquarters in London. Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart listed Jones to the Second Doctor as one of the many people who had went into the I.E. headquarters and came out "different". (TV: The Invasion)
