Hardy Base was a scientific establishment that housed a cyclotron.
A six-member team was assigned to Hardy for a year, but after two months, one of the members, Frank Paxton, and his fellow terrorists attacked the base, killing everyone except Catherine, who jumped into the cyclotron. When the Fifth Doctor rescued her, they left the terrorists on the base. (PROSE: Lackaday Express)
