The gardener at the Hawthorne estate was one of the House of the Seven Gables. After Chris Cwej framed "Rhett" for the Black Dahlia murders, the gardener took Cwej's offer to betray Michael Brookhaven in exchange for a life separate from Brookhaven's timeline. The Book of the War said that it "must be supposed" that the gardener supplied Cwej with information pertaining to the Ghost Kingdom project. The gardener later established one of the breakaway Remote groups. (PROSE: The Book of the War)
