Hinge (Planet of the End)
Hinge was the sacristan of Occasus and leader of its off-world oversight division for most of his life. He designated Fred as the planet's guardian in his place and defended it vigorously as part of his deal with the Incorporation to make him rich.
Entering the job young, a 21-year-old Hinge received constant updates on the Ninth Doctor's dealings with Occasus from Fred and made her distract him until he could arrive to immobilise him. After spending some time berating the Doctor from a flying loudspeaker, he petrified the Doctor. 89 years later, Fred freed the Doctor from the Incorporation's capture and an elderly Hinge, now supported by a titanium exoskeleton, chased the two to ensure the Incorporation's revival. However, Fred prevented their return and the resulting energy outburst turned Hinge to solid gold, which the Doctor found fitting. (AUDIO: Planet of the End)
